Description
American Studies Five-Week Program:
June 25 through July 27, 2012
The American Studies Program is an intensive program that combines ESL classes, cultural themes, and field trips. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen their English language skills by concentrating on speaking, listening, reading, and vocabulary building.
Curriculum
The program is divided into three levels (Low Intermediate, High Intermediate, and Advanced), each with three classes: Speaking-Listening, Reading-Vocabulary, and Culture. All students must take a placement test before entering the ESL courses. Students take 20 hours of class per week and participate in afternoon field trips twice a week. Class work may include communicative activities, discussions, cultural readings, listening exercises, vocabulary games, and videos.
