Dr. Watkins strives to make himself as available as possible to students, leading a staff and faculty that work together to make the student experience truly positive and worthwhile. “North Park’s School of Adult Learning is a place where adult students can complete their degrees in a compassionate, diverse, adult-oriented learning environment,” he says.
Dr. Watkins enjoys the School of Adult Learning’s focus on bringing students’ life and work experiences into the classroom, whether the setting is urban, suburban, or online: “Our distinctively Christian foundation, linked with our desire to engage a multicultural world provides the perfect context to create a vibrant learning environment for all adult students.”
Prior to joining North Park, Dr. Watkins served at Dominican University as acting assistant provost for continuing studies and special initiatives as well as the founding executive director of the School of Continuing Studies. He was also a founding member of the leadership team in the School for Professional and Continuing Education at Lewis University. He received an EdD from National Louis University, an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management, and a BS from Morningside College.
