Online Options for the School of Adult Learning

The School of Adult Learning offers a significant number of online options for busy adult students requiring flexible options in their studies. Through the University's online programs and courses, classes are offered in a variety of major, minor, general education, and elective areas. If you are eager to pursue online course options, it may be possible to complete up to 50% of your coursework online, depending on your major and transfer credit. Review the Course Schedule for a complete listing of the courses offered online.

The School of Adult Learning at North Park University is committed to implement the Quality Matters standards for the design of online and hybrid courses, and we are systematically building and evaluating our courses based on these rigorous, research-based standards. The Quality Matters standards assure that the online components of these courses promote learner engagement and provide students with all the tools and information they need to be successful learners. More information regarding Quality Matters may be found at www.qualitymatters.org.

Online courses are offered via the Blackboard course system. Most online courses are "asynchronous," meaning you aren't tied to a particular class time, which allows you to work whenever it's convenient for you. Some courses may also include opportunities for real-time, "synchronous" interaction with faculty and classmates.

Online courses are offered at the same tuition rate as face-to-face courses. There are no additional technology charges for students enrolled in online courses.

If you aren’t sure whether online courses are for you, SAL offers free support and training to prepare you for successful learning in an online environment.
