SBNM Scholarships
The School of Business and Nonprofit Management (SBNM) offers one of the most comprehensive scholarship programs for part-time graduate management students in the nation. A highlight is the Lifetime Learning Scholarship, which grants a 50% tuition discount to all alumni of SBNM graduate degree program for the rest of their lives.
Students receive the best scholarship for which they qualify. With the exception of the Jimmie Alford Scholarship and Paul Peterson Scholarship, multiple scholarships are not awarded.
International students are eligible for all scholarships.
Axelson Scholarship
Award: 35% tuition scholarship
Criteria: Full-time employees of 501c or governmental organizations, or have completed a tour of service with the Peace Corps, AmeriCorp, or Teach for America. Employment status must be verified on organizational letterhead
Details: No scholarship application is required. The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission to any SBNM graduate program and receipt of paperwork confirming employment status.
Presidential Scholarship
Award: 30% tuition scholarship
Criteria: A cumulative undergraduate or graduate grade point average for a completed degree of 3.65 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Details: No scholarship application is required. The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission to any SBNM graduate program. This scholarship renews annually with the maintenance of a 3.0 grade point average.
Provost's Scholarship
Award: 20% tuition scholarship
Criteria: A cumulative undergraduate or graduate grade point average for a completed degree of 3.34-3.64 or on a 4.0 scale.
Details: No scholarship application is required. The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission to any SBNM graduate program. This scholarship renews annually with the maintenance of a 3.0 grade point average.
Dean's Scholarship
Award: 10% tuition scholarship
Criteria: A cumulative undergraduate or graduate grade point average for a completed degree of 3.00-3.64 on a 4.0 scale.
Details: No scholarship application is required. The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission to any SBNM graduate program. This scholarship renews annually with the maintenance of a 3.0 grade point average.

Armed Forces Scholarship
Award: 20% tuition scholarship
Criteria: Active duty military personnel or full-time National Guard and Reserve personnel (including spouses) from all branches of the armed forces and Coast Guard.
Details: No scholarship application is required. The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission to any SBNM graduate program and receipt of paperwork confirming military status. This scholarship renews annually with the maintenance of a 3.0 grade point average.
Lifetime Learning Scholarship
Award: 50% tuition scholarship
Criteria: Graduates from any of the SBNM’s graduate degree programs.
Details: No scholarship application is required. This scholarship is automatically awarded upon registration for courses. With the scholarship, SBNM graduates may complete a second degree at a 50% discount..
Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Scholarship

Jimmie Alford Scholarship
The scholarship is named in honor of Jimmie Alford in recognition of his lifelong interest in young people, his dedication to education and strengthening the nonprofit sector, his loyalty, and his devotion to the cause of Christ.
Award: Varies.
Criteria: Students pursuing a degree or certificate in nonprofit management who have demonstrated academic excellence.
Details: Awarded annually in September. No scholarship application is required. SBNM faculty and staff select the recipient.
Paul V. Peterson Scholarship
Award: Varies. Typically, two or three scholarships are awarded each year.
Criteria: Students pursuing a degree or certificate in nonprofit management who are currently working with the elderly and/or in a faith-based organization with demonstrable evidence of a strong personal sense of faith, ethical orientation, and the potential to make a significant difference in the nonprofit sector.
Details: Awarded annually in April for the following academic year. An application is posted online February and is required to apply.
Note: The Paul Peterson scholarship will not be offered for the 2011-12 academic year.
Mark Farano Memorial Scholarship
Award: Varies.
Criteria: An MBA student who demonstrates strong academic performance and leadership capability.
Details: Awarded annually in June for the following academic year. No scholarship application is required. SBNM faculty and staff select the recipient.
Married Couples Scholarship
Value: Tuition reduction of $100 per course.
Criteria: Applicable when each spouse is taking a graduate course in the SBNM in the same term.
