Type 75 Certification
Become a certified Illinois administrator through North Park University's Type 75 program!
North Park University’s School of Education is now accepting applications for our last cohort of the Type 75 program. This is an opportunity to earn the certificate before state changes go into effect. North Park University's Type 75 program is designed for students with a graduate degree recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education who wish to be certified as an administrator in Illinois.
The first class for this last cohort starts July 30, 2012; the summer session will consist of two one-week courses. In the fall and spring, students will meet for Saturday courses (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). Classes will meet on our main Chicago campus at 3225 West Foster Avenue. Read about the first students to complete the Type 75 program at North Park, already making their schools better.
International Students
The State Board of Education requires certified teachers to be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. (However, international candidates can still earn a graduate degree in education.)
Admission Requirements and Application Process
North Park University maintains a rolling admissions process for post-bachelor's and non-degree programs in education. We accept applications right up until classes begin. We do encourage you, however, to apply well in advance of the start of your first term which helps ensure you're prepared for the program and can register for the classes you prefer.

GPA in Undergraduate or Graduate Studies
Generally, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a four-point scale) for Illinois teacher certification.

Interview
Type 75 applicants may be required to attend a personal interview upon request.
Post-Program Testing
The Illinois State Board of Education requires all candidates for Type 75 certification to pass the Principal (186) examination through ICTS.
Decisions on Admission
Your application will be reviewed by an admissions committee only after all materials have been received by the University. You will be informed of the committee's decision by both mail and by either phone or email within two weeks of completing your application. All documents submitted become the property of North Park University and cannot be returned to the applicant at any time.
