Secondary

In the secondary program, you learn to teach a specific subject to middle and high school students. You will choose your major (e.g., mathematics, history, biology), and you will complete the education courses to prepare to to teach in your chosen field.

The secondary program is designed for students who are planning to teach in grades 6-12 and leads to an Illinois Type 09 initial teaching certificate. Secondary candidates must also have a North Park major in biology, chemistry, economics, English, history, mathematics, physics, or politics and government.
