How to Apply and Audition
Get Started Today
Create an account with our online admissions system so you can complete an application for the MMVP program—or start one and save your progress to finish it later. MMVP students typically begin in the fall semester. We encourage you to begin your application early in the academic year before you plan to enroll, but we do accept applications for this program throughout the year.
(You can also request more information about the program if you’re not quite ready to apply.)
Along with this convenient online, no-fee application you will need to:
- Provide contact information for three individuals to submit recommendations on your behalf. These individuals will receive an online recommendation form
- Request copies of official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended to be sent to:
North Park University Admissions
3225 W Foster Ave, Box 19

If you’ve already started an online application, you can log back into the system to complete it.
Audition and Interview
All graduate vocal performance candidates are required to audition and interview for acceptance into the program. One graduate audition day in the spring semester is scheduled each year, but you can also arrange individual audition appointments with our music recruiter. The audition date has passed for students enrolling in the fall 2014 semester. The next audition will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015. Contact Dr. Rebecca Ryan for more information or to schedule an audition.
Select five pieces covering a variety of styles, technical characteristics, and languages. Include at least one art song, one operatic aria, one English selection, and one piece composed after 1900. On the day of your audition, please provide three copies of your resume and audition repertoire list. An accompanist will be provided.
Scholarships and Tuition
When you apply you should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This, along with your audition, will allow us to consider you for any available financial assistantships. Learn more about the School of Music’s graduate tuition and payment options.
