Campus Dining Options

North Park's full-service dining hall, operated by ARAMARK Food Services, provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with options for vegetarians and other special dietary needs. Often referred to as simply "A-R-A", the dining hall is more than just a place to eat — it's where students catch up with their friends, meet new people, and participate in a number of campus traditions, including a yearly Thanksgiving meal served by faculty and staff.

Meal Plans and More

Students who live in Anderson, Burgh, Ohlson, and Sohlberg residence halls are required to purchase one of several meal plan options. Learn more about current pricing for 10, 15, and 20 meals-per-week plans, as well as punch cards and pay-at-the door options.

ARA serving lineOther resident students can purchase meal plans for the dining hall, or punch cards that can be used throughout the year. Visitors can also pay at the door to the dining hall for individual meals.

Students on meal plans who find themselves short on time to eat in the dining hall can also participate in Aramark's box meal program, pre-ordering a meal to be picked up at their convenience. For example, a student with classes on Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 1:45 pm would miss the entire Tuesday lunch period, and can arrange a weekly Tuesday boxed lunch.

Visit Aramark online for more information and announcements about special events.

Viking Café

Along with the main dining hall, North Park's campus is served by Viking Café, an á la carte coffee shop with plenty of tables and comfortable seating, large-screen televisions, and a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, snacks, and beverages. Located on the first floor of Carlson Tower, near the gymnasium and the University bookstore, Viking Café is open throughout the week and is a popular hang-out spot for commuter and resident students, as well as faculty and staff.

The café is open as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:00 am to 8:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Saturday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
