Dual Degrees at North Park

School of Nursing and School of Business and Nonprofit Management

Designed for nursing professionals who wish to pursue leadership and management careers within healthcare, the dual-degree programs offered by the School of Nursing in conjunction with the School of Business and Nonprofit Management (SBNM) address critical needs within health care by preparing professionals who will have both advanced clinical expertise and business knowledge in specific areas.

Degree Options

The following SBNM degrees may be taken together with the master of science with a major in nursing program (leadership and management track only):

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA)
  • Master of Management (MM)
  • Master of Higher Education Administration (MHEA)
  • Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM)

Courses Schedule and Location

Management courses offered through North Park's School of Business and Nonprofit Management are taught in seven-week terms. Classes are offered on weeknights, occasionally on Saturdays, and can be taken online, at North Park's main campus in Chicago, or at the satellite campus in Grayslake (MBA only).

Admission and registration process

Acceptance into one of these dual-degree programs implies that students will be enrolled in graduate courses in both the School of Nursing and the School of Business and Nonprofit Management concurrently during the academic year as they complete both degrees (i.e., at least one class per semester in each program). While the final admission decision is made in the School of Nursing, admission requirements of both schools must be met.

Dual Degree Course Requirements

The combined programs require a total of 60 semester hours. For detailed requirements and approved electives for these degrees, including course planning, sequencing, and elective approval for the leadership and management program and the program of your choice in the SBNM, students will work with academic advisors from both schools.
