RN to MS
Benefits of the RN to MS Program
- Designed for the highly motivated RN student whose end goal is master’s preparation.
- Qualified individuals may begin designated master’s courses during their baccalaureate program, expediting entry into each student’s chosen area of masters’ specialization.
- Students in this program will also realize a significant cost savings by paying a lower tuition rate for their first three graduate-level nursing courses.
RN to MS Degree Requirements
The RN to MS Program at North Park University is unique in that we must first evaluate which undergraduate courses you have already completed that will transfer to North Park. The sooner we receive your application and transcripts, the sooner we can start the evaluation process and get you specific details related to your individual course needs.
Students must complete a minimum of 120 semester hours to be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree. Students may transfer up to 90 semester hours from a four-year college or university; the first 60 hours may be from a two-year college. Only courses with a grade of “C” or better will be accepted for transfer toward the nursing pre-requisites. A minimum of 36-56 additional hours will then be earned in the master’s level (MS) curriculum, depending on which area of concentration each student chooses to pursue.
Students must earn a minimum of 30 hours through North Park University at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in order to acheive both degrees. Required undergradaute courses fall into the following three categories--General Education Courses, Nursing Prerequisites, and RN Nursing Courses.
