Meet Emily Lindquist
Emily Lindquist is a transfer student from Oakland, California. After first studying at Gonzaga University, this biblical and theological studies major transferred to North Park, and is glad she made the transition.
How did you hear about North Park?
I grew up in a Covenant church and North Park was well advertised there.
What's different about North Park from your last school?
Great teacher support, and I enjoy the smaller class sizes.
What was your transfer experience like?
Was anything particularly difficult?
The process of transferring was pretty simple and well handled by the University. Moving so far away from home was a tough transition, but overall it was smooth.
What activities do you enjoy here at North Park?
I enjoy volunteering and being a part of the Global Partnerships Zambia team.
What is your favorite place on campus?
What is your favorite North Park sports team?
The ultimate Frisbee team.
What is one interesting thing you would like to share about yourself?
My favorite band is Great White Buffalo!
What are your plans after graduation?
I would like to move back to California and complete a master of divinity degree.
Do you have any advice for other transfer students?
- Come into North Park with an open mind.
- Take advantage of opportunities on campus.
- Make a point to meet with faculty and staff — they will help with developing an academic plan which is great for building self-confidence.
- Utilize transfer support.
