Justin Sjovall joined North Park University in 2003 as the Head Athletic Trainer. In this capacity, he oversees the healthcare of all the North Park NCAA Division III student-athletes. He also serves as an Approved Clinical Instructor and teaches two practicum courses for the Athletic Training Educational Program.

Justin graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree in athletic training with a minor in health education. After graduation, he began work part-time as an athletic trainer for the Center for Neuroscience, Orthopedic , and Spine in his hometown of Sioux City, IA covering a multitude of high school competitions, special events, and summer conditioning programs. Sjovall then started his next position as an intern athletic trainer at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where he gained experience working with women's volleyball, football, and men's tennis. Desiring to pursue graduate work, Sjovall accepted a graduate assistantship position at the University of Minnesota. While there, he successfully completed a master's degree in sport management while providing athletic training services to the cross country and track & field teams.

Dr. Thaker is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has her CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine. She received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Resurrection Medical Center. She conducted her Sports Medicine Fellowship training at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Dr. Thaker is currently the Medical Director of North Park University’s athletic training program in addition to being their Head Team Physician. She is also the Team physician at New Trier High School, Ridgewood High School, and Resurrection High School. Dr. Thaker’s accomplishments include being part of the medical team for the Chicago Marathon, Chicago Triathlon, and the Ironman Triathlon Championship. She is also the Medical Director for the Men’s Health Chicago Urbanathlon.

Dr. Dukes is a primary care sports medicine fellow with Resurrection Medical Center. She attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After graduation she completed an internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and a family medicine residency at Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Dukes is currently fulfilling a sports medicine fellowship at Resurrection Medical Center. She grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, the home of Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!!), which is where she plans to practice medicine once her training is complete. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, working out, watching sports, traveling and reading.

Dr. Maaya Marri is serving as Team Physician for the North Park University Athletics Program as part of his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Resurrection Medical Center.

McQuaid’s primary responsibilities include working as the Certified Athletic Trainer for the women’s soccer and volleyball teams in the fall, the women’s basketball team in the winter, and the baseball team in the spring. McQuaid also serves as an approved clinical instructor within the North Park Athletic Training Educational Program and instructs two practicum courses.

McQuaid graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2007. In 2009, he earned a Master’s of Education in Athletic Training while also serving as an assistant athletic trainer at a private New England prep-school. Eric is originally from Marquette, MI, located on Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
