Students of Promise
Academics and Character
Students are admitted to the program based on admission requirements and acceptance to the university.
Minimum qualifications include either:
- An ACT score of 28 or above
- An SAT of 1230 (M+V) or above
and/or
- Rank in the top 10% of the class.
Honors Congress members are Nyvall and Presidential Scholarship recipients and receive a separate letter of notification from the director after academic scholarships have been awarded.
As Honors Congress Scholars, students of promise are provided opportunities to excel during their first two years of undergraduate study.
Honors courses during the second two years happen in individual departments.
If you are highly motivated and if you are ready to be challenged and to challenge yourself this program may be for you. We strive to take the words of Jesus-“To whom much is given, much is required.” and give them special consideration in the Honors Congress. Our philosophy is simply this: The Honors Congress gives students of high intellectual ability an array of learning experiences from which to choose, places the students side-by-side with faculty mentors who care, and offers them guidance and encouragement along the way.
