Mechanical Engineering Program Requirements

The BS in mechanical engineering and BS in physics can be completed in five years of full-time study. Throughout the degree, you’ll meet with a faculty advisor at North Park who will help guide you through the program, ensuring you complete necessary coursework on time and with success.

Most of years one, two, and four will be spent at North Park, completing Core Curriculum and physics courses. Years three and five, as well as two or three summers of research, are spent primarily at UIC.

Dual-Degree Program Requirements, BS in mechanical engineering and BS in physics

  • Mechanical engineering major courses: 66 semester hours (sh)
  • Math and science courses: 32 sh
  • Technical electives: 6 sh
  • University writing: 6 sh
  • General education: 18 sh
  • Total: 128 semester hours
