Opening and Closing Dates
Information for New Students
Tuesday, August 18, 2009: New Student Check-in and Move-in
In order to accommodate the new students and families, we have developed a check-in and move-in system with Threshold that will eliminate congestion and confusion as much as possible. The information for checking into housing is found below.
Move-In Schedule
- 8:00 to 11:30 am: Anderson-Ohlson-Park North residents Move-In
- 11:30 am to 1:00 pm: Lunch on your own
- 12:30 to 4:00 pm: Burgh-Sohlberg-Sawyer Court residents Move-In (Burgh and Sawyer Court residents get IDs before hand in Burgh Basement)

- If you are an international student coming on a non-immigrant visa, an athlete, or a person who needs to arrive early to work on campus, please check with your coach or advisor for your move-in schedule.
- We are unable to accommodate early arrivals or dropping off of belongings, so please make your travel plans accordingly.

Fall Break (Friday, October 16-Sunday, October 18, 2009)
All of NP’s undergraduate housing remains open
Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26-Sunday, November 29, 2009)
All of NP’s undergraduate housing remains open. ARA’s last meal is dinner Wednesday; ARA re-opens for breakfast on Monday.
Christmas/Winter Break
NP’s undergraduate housing closes for the winter break. Students must leave 24 hours after their last final. Students with finals on Friday, December 11, 2009 must leave by 10 am on Saturday, December 12, 2009. ARA’s last meal is dinner Friday. *Apartment, house, and SC residents may petition to stay in housing during the winter break; a fee may apply.
January
NP’s undergraduate housing reopens at noon on Sunday, January 10, 2010. ARA opens for breakfast on Monday.
Spring Break (Saturday, March 6-Sunday, March 14, 2010)
Halls close at 10 am on Saturday, March 6, 2010. ARA’s last meal is dinner Friday. Halls reopen at noon on Sunday, March 14, 2010. ARA reopens for breakfast on Monday. Apartment, house, and SC residents may stay in their assigned residence during spring break.
May
All of NP’s undergraduate housing closes for the summer. Students must leave 24 hours after their last final. Students with finals on Friday, May 7, 2010 must leave by 10 am on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Students participating in graduation may remain until 10 am on Sunday, May 9, 2010. ARA’s last meal is dinner Saturday.
Students interested in staying on campus during the summer can apply for housing in the Office of Residence Life and Housing.
We are unable to accommodate requests for early arrivals or late departures. Please make your travel plans accordingly.
