CLEP (College Level Examinaton Program)
North Park University accepts credit for university-level knowledge as demonstrated by passing grades on the exams offered by the College Level Examination Program according to the guidelines below:
Policy

General Examination: In order to take a General Examination a student must have earned no more than 57 semester hours of university level credit.

Subject Examination: If a student has over 57 semester hours he/she can take a subject examination, as long as he/she does not test backward ( i.e. testing out of a lower level courses if he/she has completed higher level courses.)
- A student is not eligible to receive CLEP credit in any course that he/she has previously audited or taken for credit.
- Credit will post to a student's transcript once the student has officially enrolled at North Park University.
- North Park University must receive an official copy of the CLEP score in order to process and post the credit.
To request your CLEP scores be sent to North Park, you can contact CLEP at (609) 771-7865 or email.
Procedures
- Check with the Center for Academic Services to make sure that course credit is applicable to your major and/or general education requirements for graduation.
- Make arrangements with a nearby CLEP Center to take the examination. North Park University is NOT a testing site.
- Have the results of the examination(s) sent to North Park University in care of the Center for Academic Services. The code number is 1556.
Fees
- A $42 fee per test payable to CLEP.
- If the exam is passed, North Park charges $35.00 per semester hour to have the results posted as credit on your transcript. Note: Successfully passing a CLEP foreign language examination allows the student to be exempt from the general education foreign language requirement. No credit will be posted for successfully passing a CLEP foreign language examination.
- Fees subject to change without notice.
Additional Information
- Scores usually take 3 to 4 weeks before they reach the university. You will receive a letter from North Park University in regard to your credit status.
- If the report shows that you did not attain the necessary scores, you may take the exam again in six months.
