Inspiring and supporting students on the road to college
VIVE is a college readiness program for students in grades 7 through 12. VIVE encourages students to envision themselves as college students and challenges them to fully invest themselves in their junior and senior high school studies to best position themselves for admission and scholarship opportunities.
Co-sponsored by North Park University and local Evangelical Covenant Church congregations, VIVE programs are held in key geographic locations around the United States.
As the University of the Evangelical Covenant Church, North Park is committed to increasing college readiness, access, and success rates for underrepresented students. We believe that making college available to all young people is an issue of justice, and VIVE is designed to inspire and support underrepresented Covenant students and their friends to choose the path to a college education.
VIVE and Your Congregation
North Park University is excited and ready to partner with clusters of congregations where pastors and other church leaders desire to create pathways for under-served students to start to imagine college in their futures. University staff will work alongside a local/regional planning committee, overseeing details like location, planning basic logistics for the day, and planning a VIVE event. Contact the VIVE program coordinator to explore the possibility of a VIVE event in your area.
VIVE is designed to be hosted in multiple locations across the country. North Park University sponsors annual, regional events and works closely with a sponsoring committee representing participating congregations on event programming. Local Covenant churches are encouraged to provide ongoing enrichment opportunities between VIVE regional events. Previous events have been held in greater Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and on the North Park campus in Chicago.
VIVE Event (Grades 7-12)
This full-day event is designed to inspire students to see college as a viable option after high school and a personal goal to be attained. The program includes multicultural worship usually led by a North Park worship team, a keynote speaker, workshops, and fellowship.
