Academics
Majors
North Park's undergraduate degree programs feature more than 40 majors and programs in liberal arts and sciences. The student-to-faculty ratio is 14 to 1 and our average class size is 18. Among 130 full-time faculty, 96 percent hold a PhD or terminal degree in their field.
As a North Park undergraduate, you can choose to complete one or two majors, add a minor in a secondary field of interest, or earn a certificate in a specialized area of study.
Transfer credits
We can accept up to 60 credits from a two-year college or 90 credits from a four-year college. North Park maintains course-by-course articulation agreements with many community colleges in the Chicago area. To review which of your current courses from community colleges or other universities will satisfy North Park's general education requirements, please see our Transfer Guides. For specific questions, please contact Rob Berki, our transfer counselor, via email or by phone at (773) 244-5516.
The offices of Student Enrichment Services and Support and Student Administrative Services will help you through the credit-transfer process and your transition to North Park. Review our handy visual guides for more help:
Advising
After you enroll, you'll be assigned to a faculty member in the academic department for your chosen major. Your advisor will help you plan the program of classes that best meets your needs. Student Enrichment Services and Support also has a variety of tools available to help transfer students find their right path at North Park.
