Homecoming 2012: The Spirit Games, October 8–14
Every fall, it's a great delight to welcome alumni and friends back to campus to celebrate a new school year alongside current students, faculty, and staff.
This year's homecoming festivities — the Spirit Games — offered something for everyone. Students, faculty, and staff participated throughout the week in games, special events, and getting the campus ready to welcome back our alumni. Popular events returned, including the Homecoming Music Showcase, a showing in Carlson Tower Art Gallery, the Block Party, and the Reunion and Awards Breakfast.
Great athletic events enhanced the festivities: the Viking volleyball, football, and soccer teams battled conference opponents throughout the weekend, and new members were inducted into the Viking Hall of Fame. Baseball alumni really wanted in on the competitive spirit dusted off their gear and participated in the fifth annual Viking Alumni Baseball Classic against Coach Luke Johnson and the two-time CCIW champion Vikings.
As a special treat this year, the Spirit Games gave all homecoming participants the chance to play a game throughout the weekend, with great prizes at stake.
