Cross Country Facilities

North Park University's men's and women's cross country teams have a wealth of great places to run near the campus.  These are three of the favorites where Viking runners put in their miles:

Montrose Harbor

4400 North Lake Shore Drive, 4 miles from North Park University Campus

North Park University Cross Country home course. Home of the 2011 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Cross Country Championships. The course is unique in that runners can enjoy our amazing skyline while still getting that true cross country feel of being surrounded by grass and trees. The course begins and ends near the Montrose Beach House. The course is comprised of a series of loops with a few short sections of asphalt as well as a few charges up hill.

LaBaugh Woods

Foster and Cicero Avenue, 2 miles from North Park University Campus

The LaBaugh Woods was used as the North Park University home cross country course from the years 2006-2007. Although the cross country team does not currently race in the woods, runners are still able to enjoy miles of dirt trails running along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Skokie Sculpture Park

Dempster and Touhy Avenue, Skokie, IL, 2 miles from North Park University Campus

The North Park Cross Country team can log their miles running through displays of over 60 sculptures by local and nationally recognized artists alike. More information on the park is available on their website.
