The North Park University Women’s Golf team capped off a two day road trip with solid play at the Monmouth Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday, September 12 in Monmouth, IL.
Leading the way for the Vikings was junior Colleen Horgan with a round score of 97. Junior Ashley Waddell fired a round score of 100. Horgan came out of the clubhouse strong, firing a 43 on the front nine.
“For the first time this season, we were playing 18 holes on consecutive days. The fairways were narrow and the course had a lot of hills, which seem to wear down both golfers as the day progressed," North Park coach Chris Edquist said. "It was a valuable learning experience, as I think both learned how to fight through physical and mental fatigue to concentrate on each shot. I was very pleased how both played early in the day, we just seemed to run out of gas on the back nine.”
