Nursing 3210 Concepts of Professional Nursing

Print Sources:

For students taking classes on campus at North Park University, the easiest way to start finding books is to search the library catalog.  You can also find the print journals the library subscribes to, as well as DVDs and magazines, in the catalog.

Often a subject search will give you more focused information on a topic.  To perform a subject search, type a word into the catalog and then select "Subject" in the box to the right.  Get help searching the catalog.

Finding Database Articles:

Begin by searching the nursing databases.  You can find them by clicking on Databases and Online Resources and then clicking nursing.

  • CINAHL indexes over 2800 nursing journals and is a great source for nursing and medical research.  Need better instructions about how to search CINAHL?
  • Proquest Nursing Journals offers the full-text of over 250 nursing journals.  Find more information about Proquest Nursing Journals.
  • The Nursing Reference Center is an evidence-based medicine database that offers point-of-care info about drugs, diseases, conditions, and patient education.  Click for more information.
  • Medline is another great medical index.  You might want to search this with "nursing" as one of your search terms, as the database also covers dentistry and veterinary medicine, among others.
