College work study is a federal, need-based employment program. Students that are given work study will be placed in an on-campus job. Student workers are paid bi-weekly for the hours that they work. Therefore, work study does not appear on the bill as financial aid (impacting the balance due).
Even if you are not given work study, you can look for a non-work study job when you arrive on campus in the fall. Look for fliers posted around campus, information in the daily announcements, or postings on the Student Employment website. The pay rate, which is $7.75 per hour, is the same for all on-campus student employment. Students will usually work about 10 hours per week in an on-campus job.
