North Park's commuter students bring a lot to our campus community. Your Chicagoland savvy gives you an advantage over our new students coming from out of town, and your unique life experiences enrich the classroom experience for everyone.
And Threshold is for you, too! Use this time of transition to get to know your future classmates, the campus, and get ready for a great year at North Park.
First-Year and Transfer Commuter Student Orientation Day
Friday, August 9, 2013
Because you're close to campus, we're getting you and other commuter students started with Threshold early. Join us for First-Year and Transfer Commuter Student Orientation Day on Friday, August 9.
Traditional undergraduate commuter students will be able to take care of administrative tasks—like getting your school ID and paying your bill—without the long lines of move-in day. You can take music placement tests or challenge exams for various subjects. We'll take you on tours of all the campus places and offices you need to know, like Brandel Library and Helwig Recreation Center, and introduce you to the staff and programs in University Ministries, Student Development, and other offices.

Threshold Welcome Day
Wednesday, August 21
Later in August, come back on Welcome Day to meet more of your classmates, including those from around the country and the world, and get the year started. Make sure you check out the schedule to see what events are required for all students. We hope you'll plan to participate fully and get to know your peers, connect with your CREW Group, enjoy great social events, and offer your own expertise on the city to us all.
Directions and Parking
North Park is easily accessible by car and by public transit from all over Chicago.
You can purchase a parking pass from Student Administrative Services, located on the first floor of the Student Services Building, which allows you to park in one of several University parking lots. You can also park on surrounding city streets, but watch out for permit restrictions and metered areas.
