Becoming a Writing Advisor

Almost all Writing Advisors are nominated by faculty members or fellow students. After a student is nominated, he or she will be contacted by the Writing Center Director, Carol Martin, with an invitation to apply. To see the application process, click on the link below.

Once students are accepted as Writing Advisors they enroll for a two credit class, which meets weekly during the following fall term. This class is designed to provide Writing Advisors with the appropriate methodology needed to handle various scenarios they might encounter while advising.
