Full Video: Judy Peterson

North Park Justice Summit and Chicago Reload

Friday, March 23, 2012

Judy Peterson, North Park University's campus pastor, talks about Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones. Comparing the hopelessness of the dry bones to the injustices of our world today, Peterson reassures us that if we are in one of these valley places it is not because God forgot us, but because God intentionally brought us there and is with us there. It's easy to become cynical and pessimistic in the valley, surrounded by brokenness, but Peterson insists that these things are side effects of our world losing connection with God. We must hold together two biblical imperatives: while we work for justice in the world, often in a valley place, we must also be in intimate relationship with the Lord. Listen to Peterson preach for more convicting truths.
