Housing Justice Public Meeting
with Rachelle Ankney and the North Park Justice League
Friday, March 23
4:30 – 6:00 pm
Spend your Friday dinner break participating in a public forum asking for justice on behalf of individuals and families suffering in the housing crisis. The North Park Justice League will lead Justice Summit and Chicago Reload attendees — and members of our surrounding communities — in this event.
Beginning at 4:30 pm, walk from Anderson Chapel on North Park's campus to the 4900 block of North Spaulding Avenue to get a first-hand look at the impact of the current housing crisis in our own neighborhood.
Following this walk, the group will return to Anderson Chapel for a public meeting to hear testimony and ask Illinois State Attorney General Lisa Madigan for a commitment to seek justice for those who have been wronged in the housing crisis. Madigan is part of a federal working group investigating the mortgage-backed securities that contributed to the rampant foreclosures and underwater mortgages harming our communities today.
The North Park Justice League is committed to using people power to change policies that destroy our communities and unfairly disenfranchise segments of our society. This public meeting is one step in keeping our commitment. Please join us and make our people power stronger!
