Covenant Diversity Scholarships

Covenant Diversity Scholars represent a variety of backgrounds and traditions within the Evangelical Covenant Church. These students receive a generous scholarship to complete master's degrees at North Park through generous gifts from friends of the Seminary. We invite you to make a gift to help support these and future Diversity Scholars.

My passion for music ministry became a calling that has led me to seminary. Growing up in a Covenant church, North Park Theological Seminary was my first and only choice for education. I believe that God has great things in store for me in music ministry. Receiving the Covenant Diversity Scholarship has let me know that this is where I belong.

A few years ago I recorded a CD project of worship songs that I had written. Since that time I have felt a strong need to grow in the Lord and specifically become a worship leader. The Covenant Diversity Scholarship is truly a miraculous blessing. As I feel that I have been led to acquire knowledge to grow in the Lord, this opportunity given to me by North Park Theological Seminary is like an oasis in the desert. We truly serve an awesome God.

It is a great blessing to be accepted to North Park Theological Seminary. Being able to study is a confirmation of the Lord’s call for the ministry. With the Covenant Diversity Scholarship, the Lord is providing the means for me to study and prepare for the ministry. I plan to resume a teaching ministry and possibly do church planting work in the Philippines when I complete my program.

Before I came to the United States, I was studying hotel management in Malaysia. In my heart I knew that it was not what I had been called to do. At this moment, a pastor from the Covenant Church contacted me and asked me to come to Chicago to continue my education here. I wished to continue my theological education at North Park Theological Seminary to prepare myself for future ministry to become a biblical and theological scholar and Chinese missionary ministry. The Covenant Diversity Scholarship will help me to complete my education and training. I believe this scholarship is support from God to encourage me to continue my life as his servant. Thank you.

I am a Covenant pastor and need to increase my knowledge of scripture, training, and teaching the gospel. The Covenant Diversity Scholarship is very important because I am a full-time, new church pastor within a congregation that cannot pay a salary. During and after completing my master’s degree, I plan to continue pastoring as well as helping my conference in any way I can.

Currently I am serving as the community pastor of Vox Veniae. Through this journey I realized the importance of additional training in the context of seminary. Receiving the Covenant Diversity Scholarship is an immense blessing of provision and will further equip me to preach, lead, and shepherd our church community more effectively.
