I have prayed that God would guide me in this journey, making His will abundantly clear and providing the way to answer His call. Receiving the Presidential Scholarship is an answer to that prayer. My husband, Kurt, and I are so thankful for the generosity that allows me to answer Christ’s call to serve Him.

I decided to attend seminary because I know that holistic ministry I want to do in the future requires in-depth study and experience. The greatest value that the Presidential Scholarship has to me is knowing that people believe so much in me and my abilities to make a difference in this world with and for Jesus. This makes me want to stay focused and study to learn as much as I can in seminary. I am both honored and humbled to be a Presidential Scholar.

I believe that God has continually refined my call to ministry into one emphasizing worship and what it means to truly live with a posture centered on God in everyday life. I am grateful to those who support the Seminary and the Presidential Scholarships program. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that the Seminary will present me with as God continues to refine His calling in me.

I am proud to say I have been a part of the Covenant Church my entire life, and I have seen firsthand the joy of new life and freedom in Christ. It is my desire to participate in that work of God’s Kingdom and I am grateful for the opportunity to begin that journey as a Presidential Scholar at North Park Theological Seminary.

My family is deeply involved in ministry within the Evangelical Covenant Church. When wrestling with my decision to attend seminary, it was not a choice I took lightly. I knew I would need help financially, but with the encouragement from those around me, I decided to apply. Receiving the Presidential Scholarship was the greatest affirmation that I am on the right path.

My future depended on this Presidential Scholarship. I had applied late into the school year, so my chances were limited. This summer, I received an offer to serve as a youth pastor at a church in Connecticut. I left the decision with God and felt that if I were to qualify for this scholarship, then I would attend seminary. Thank you for making my seminary education and preparation for service to the Covenant church possible.

I became a Christian in junior high. I am in the Master of Arts in Christian Formation program, hoping to work with children or youth ministries in the future. With the Covenant Presidential Scholarship I will be able to focus more fully on studying and being in the seminary community.

God called me to service as a Chaplain in the health care field, and North Park Theological Seminary has proved to be the perfect place to prepare for ministry. Thanks to your generous support of the Presidential Scholarship program, I have access to the best training available.

I would like to serve the denomination which has served me, so North Park Theological Seminary seemed the logical choice. Observing over many years the commitment, generosity and excellent scholarship of the seminary faculty, assured me that North Park would be a great community in which to study and grow. The Covenant Presidential Scholarship is huge for me since I would not have been able to attend without it. Leaving a job and stepping out into the unknown, especially as an older student, is not easy. But God’s hand is clearly in this journey, and I am learning to trust his leading.

My time here at North Park has been an incredible experience. God has sustained me through the challenges of transitioning into a new place, culture, and community. I feel more strongly than ever the call of God on my life. I am so grateful for the support of everyone who has helped to bring me here.

After years of doing Covenant camp ministry I was drawn to the pedagogical ethic of North Park Theological Seminary to learn ministry and sharpen my gifts. Investment in my education through the Covenant Presidential Scholarship represents affirmation of my call and a deepened bond to the church.

My husband John and I feel called to work alongside the Covenant in church planting. Growing up in the Covenant naturally led me to North Park Theological Seminary. As a Presidential Scholar, I am honored to prepare for more traditional pastoral ministry while continuing to follow Jesus into the world.

After serving as a Youth Director in the Evangelical Covenant church, I am excited to further my training at North Park Theological Seminary. I am humbled to be a Presidential Scholar and feel blessed to continue my educational journey in ministry so that I can fulfill my lifelong dream of full time missions.

The simple truth is that North Park Theological Seminary and the people behind the Presidential Scholarship have given a gift that goes beyond dollar signs and diplomas. For me, it is the opportunity to work hard at what I love – Biblical antiquity and its application for the benefit of real people.

I've always felt God at work in my life, and now that I'm starting seminary I couldn't be more excited to see what God has in store for me next. Receiving the Covenant Presidential Scholarship has been a huge blessing in my life, and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the many opportunities at North Park Theological Seminary.

I came to North Park as an undergraduate student and from time to time was able to hear Seminary professors speak at chapel. This left a strong impression on me that North Park Theological Seminary would be the place in which I could best grow in Christ’s wisdom. I am able to do that thanks to the Presidential Scholarship.

I am now in seminary because I want to better equip myself, as I hope to return to the mission field. The Presidential Scholarship has allowed me to be here at North Park Theological Seminary and pursue my calling into full time ministry.

I first felt the call to seminary when I realized my passion for camping ministry. I was assured by mentors and friends that seminary would be a wise choice. I looked into the Masters of Divinity degree program at North Park Theological Seminary. Receiving the Presidential Scholarship was my confirmation from God.
