Current Northwest Conference Recipients

The Covenant Presidential Scholarship is enabling me to attend seminary with a focus and intensity that will result in me being a better pastor than I was before or could be without it. Having moved my family, including three elementary-aged children, from Minnesota to Chicago, this investment in the ministry that God has called me to is an incredible support and affirmation that is greater than just the dollars involved.

I decided to come to North Park Theological Seminary to live out a desire to grow in my knowledge, faith, and pursuit of God's will in my life. God has affirmed this decision in many ways. One of these ways was receiving the Presidential Scholarship. I am so blessed and thank God for His presence in my life.

During college, my call to ministry blossomed into a passion for multi-cultural church planting. I was pleased to find that the denomination my grandparents belonged to offered a scholarship that would allow me to go further educationally. The Evangelical Covenant Church’s emphasis on Church Planting and Multiculturalism made North Park Theological Seminary a clear choice. I am forever thankful to all those who give so that the story of God may continue to be told.

I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as a child. At age 15, I realized that God shapes our lives in order to be used by Him. Previously, I thought I was too normal to do ministry. God taught me that He uses us where we are at to minister to others. I am very excited for the opportunity to study here at North Park Theological Seminary and to be a Presidential Scholarship recipient. Thank you for your support and prayers!

Throughout the ages, God has called men and women to ministry from various circumstances. He called Abram out of his homeland, into the unknown, and provided for his needs. With the Presidential Scholarship, I have been blessed to receive financial support as I respond to God’s call in my own life.

I grew up in a Covenant Church, yet never imagined pursuing a career in ministry or biblical studies. After college, however, I was clearly called to North Park Theological Seminary. Now as a Masters of Divinity student, God has been forming my life in unexpected and fulfilling ways. I am incredibly blessed and thankful for the opportunity to be here during this time of learning and discernment.

God has called me to walk with people as they walk with God. The Covenant’s long history of community, accountability, vision and love encourages me that my ministry fits into the narrative of the denomination. The Presidential Scholarship is both an affirmation for my call and it provides a freedom to do ministry with whomever and wherever God might call. Thank you for this blessing!

I am so thankful for the opportunity to study at North Park Theological Seminary. Without the prayer, financial support, and encouragement of so many faithful Christ followers, I would not be here today. God is so faithful, and I desire to share His love with the world for His glory and fame.

I have realized that all experiences in my life have happened so that I may learn more about God and how much He loves me. I know my transformation from “believer” to “follower” never ends, and that my responsibility to love God and love others continues each day until I am reunited with God. Attending North Park Theological Seminary through the Covenant Presidential Scholarship will help me to continue to focus on how I can further God’s kingdom while I have my opportunity on this earth.
