Vikings in Progress (VIP)
Vikings In Progress (VIP) is North Park’s optional summer pre-orientation day for incoming students and their families. The VIP experience will help new students make a successful transition to North Park. In addition to programs for new students, information specifically for parents and families will be provided. Take a look at the VIP schedule for more details.
The cost for VIP Day is $10 per person, which includes lunch. The cost for the overnight program is $40 per student in addition to the $10 fee for the VIP Day program. The overnight option is available only for students and includes dinner, evening activity and transportation, linens, and breakfast on Saturday morning.
VIP is open to all incoming undergraduate students. Students are encouraged to bring parents, family members, or guests — their support is crucial to college success. Students must be registered for their fall classes in order to attend VIP.
Commuter and Transfer Students
Students who will be commuting to campus or who are transferring from another school are encouraged to attend on this day.
First Year Resident Students
Students who are coming to college for the first time and who will be living on campus are encouraged to attend VIP.
A student overnight option is now available during the VIP experience. The cost is $40 per student and includes a one-night stay in our campus living areas, an exciting evening excursion to downtown Chicago, and brunch on Saturday morning. Space is limited for this program, so reserve your spot as soon as possible.
The School of Nursing encourages nursing majors to attend VIP; the afternoon will include a special program specifically for nursing students.
Music theory and keyboard skills examinations will be offered.
The 2012 VIP day has now passed, but feel free to contact us by email if you have questions about your orientation to North Park. We look forward to seeing you on campus at North Park University!
