Associate professor Gianfranco Farruggia has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit world, starting out at Oak/Leyden Developmental Services, Inc., and more recently as the co-founder and CEO of Community Human Services. He has written numerous articles on social services and his dissertation studied CEO survival strategies for nonprofit human service organizations. He has taught part-time at both DePaul University and Kendall College.

Ann Hicks is associate professor of accounting at North Park. Prior to joining North Park, she spent nearly 20 years in senior level accounting and finance positions in the real estate and education industries. She has also taught at Northeastern University and Concordia University.

Robert Hirsch, professor of management, has nearly 30 years of experience in corporate, nonprofit, and educational institutions. Prior to joining North Park, he was President and CEO of the Baking Industry Suppliers Association. He has held senior level positions in a variety of nonprofit associations, consulted to Fortune 500 organizations, and served as an associate professor of communication at Arizona State University. He has authored over 35 books and articles and currently serves on a number of boards and committees.

Al Kamienski is associate professor in finance and economics at North Park. Prior to 2002, Kamienski worked extensively for numerous international consulting firms. He is a member of the American Educational Research Association and an active supporter of market-based school reform. He currently consults for a number of firms including a Chicago-based charter school operator and a nonprofit foundation supporting over 50 charter schools nationwide.

Wesley Lindahl is the Dean of the School of Business and Nonprofit Management at North Park after spending many years as the assistant dean and director of development at The McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. He has authored several publications on the subject of fundraising and is a frequent presenter on the subject at national conferences.

She was most recently director of human resources for 21st Century Telecom Group and founder and president of Catherine Marsh Consulting. Crendalyn McMath-Fitzgerald, associate professor, has spent nearly 20 years in education, marketing, and entrepreneurial positions. Most recently she was founding director of the Center for Urban Business at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to her joining UIC, she founded and ran a video production company and was president of Entrepreneur and Executive Resources, Inc. McMath serves on a variety of corporate and nonprofit boards and committees.

Pier Rogers, Director of the Axelson Center and professor of nonprofit management, has spent over 25 years in the nonprofit field and has been active in the nonprofit research community nationally since the early 1990s. Most recently she served as the associate executive director of the National Association of Social Workers, New York City Chapter. She has taught extensively at various institutions including Yale (PONPO), Fordham University, and for seven years full-time at the New School University, Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy as an assistant professor. She has a Ph.D. from New York University in organizational theory, urban analysis, and managerial analysis, a master’s degree in social work and Afro-American studies from Boston University, and a B.A. in philosophy and political science from Wellesley College. She has presented and published broadly in the field of nonprofit management.

Pam Schilling is assistant professor of finance and accounting. Her business career includes 15 years as a strategy consultant and financial management professional, working at firms such as Booz & Company, Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, NAVTEQ, and Sprint. Prior to joining North Park, Pam worked in MBA Career Services at Chicago Booth and founded Schilling & Associates, a global consulting/executive coaching firm focusing on strategies affecting human capital, professional development, and career management, where she continues to serve individuals, companies, and entrepreneurs.

Michele Klich Wayte, professor of marketing, has eight years of professional business experience as a marketing research consultant and project manager in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Portland, Guam, and Malaysia. She has experience teaching in Oregon, California, Guam, Taiwan, and China. Her research concentrates in the area of social entrepreneurship, and she has served as a judge in the Social Venture Plan Competition at Seattle Pacific University. She recently completed a pilot study of nonprofit managers with a Concordia research grant. Entitled Social Entrepreneurship: Profiles in Faith, Innovation and Risk-Taking, this project investigated the innovative business models of successful young entrepreneurs in Portland and the role of faith in their decision to lead lives of significance and service. Her interdisciplinary education includes a Ph.D. in communications specializing in Hispanic marketing and media studies (Purdue), an MA in clinical psychology with training in educational testing and evaluation (DePaul), and a BA in clinical psychology and mass communication (Purdue).
