Professor McKnight Wins Best of Christian Press Award

CHICAGO, IL (May 1, 2007) – A magazine article on the emergent church earned North Park University Professor Scot McKnight a second-place award from the Associated Church Press (ACP) last week.

McKnight's article The Future or Fad? appeared in the February issue of The Covenant Companion.

The ACP named the Best of the Christian Press during a banquet at its annual meeting in Chicago. Nearly 200 publications are members of the ACP and have a combined readership of several million subscribers.

McKnight's article won in the category Theological Reflection: Long Format. He is the Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religious Studies at North Park and has become nationally known for his expertise on the emergent church.

The award was one of eight received by the Companion, which is published monthly by the denomination that owns North Park University, the Evangelical Covenant Church.
