School of Music Featured in Chicago Tribune Magazine
CHICAGO, IL (May 14, 2007) – Yesterday's
Chicago Tribune Magazine, a publication with a circulation of over 1 million readers, featured a story on North Park University School of Music's April 20 benefit concert
An Evening of Chamber Music.
The article notes that three world-renowned musicians performed for free - Alex Klein, former principal oboist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Ricardo Castro, the first Latin-born winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition; and Richard Young, violist with the famed Vermeer Quartet. It also highlights the cause toward which funds raised were dedicated – 21-year-old Deborah Wanderley dos Santos, a Brazilian violinist studying at North Park through a music scholarship.
