Dilworth to Conduct Holland Chorale as Guest Artist This Weekend

Rollo Dilworth with University Choir

CHICAGO, IL (March 15, 2007) – Assistant Professor of Music Rollo Dilworth is "one of America's rising young stars in the field of choral music," according to today's Holland (Mich.) Sentinel. The paper covered Dilworth in advance of his appearance as a guest artist Saturday night in the Holland Chorale’s March Community Enrichment Series.

The 7:30 p.m. performance to be held at the Central Avenue Christian Reformed Chruch in Holland, Mich. will feature Dilworth leading the Chorale in a wide range of American spiritual and American gospel music, including some of his own compositions, "Beside the Still Waters," "Jonah," and "Jordan's Angels."

The Sentinel had further accolades for Dilworth, stating, "His published work as a composer and arranger of choral music has found widespread acceptance across all cultural lines with his special emphasis in the areas of spirituals and gospel-inspired works."

A North Park faculty member since 1996, Dilworth is director of both the bachelor of music education program and the choral program at the University, as well as conductor of the Gospel Choir and the University Choir. In 2003 he was awarded the Zenos Hawkinson Award for Teaching and Campus Leadership.
