Gant Signs on for Second Pro Season

EVANSVILLE, IN (January 3, 2007) - The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce that wide receiver Sherman Gant has signed a contract to play with the BlueCats during the 2007 indoor football season. Gant returns to Evansville after playing with the team last season.

Last season, Gant had three receptions for 55 yards with the BlueCats, but two of his receptions resulted in big plays that went for touchdowns. Gant recorded his receptions in two different games, scoring once in each game. His touchdowns were on pass plays of 25 and 22 yards.

In his senior season of 2005, he led the North Park Vikings with 52 receptions and 888 yards in only 10 games on his way to All-CCIW Second Team honors.

BlueCats Head Coach John Hart said, "We're looking forward to having Sherman back in Evansville next year. He's without a doubt one of the fastest guys on our team and he has the ability to break a game open with his speed."
