Scott Lorenz

CHICAGO, IL (January 2, 2007) – This morning’s Crain’s A.M.: People in the News, an email blast reaching thousands throughout Chicago and surrounding areas, features a profile of Scott Lorenz, a student currently pursuing a master of management in nonprofit administration degree at North Park University.

The article focuses on Lorenz’s appointment as executive director of Chicago Cares last October. His efforts on behalf of this organization, which assembles volunteers for community service projects, are focused on increasing the number of volunteers placed, building upon existing financial contributions from current corporate partners, and increasing diversity among volunteers.

Professor Gianfranco Farruggia, faculty member at North Park University's School of Business and Nonprofit Management and one of Lorenz's professors, comments, "Scott has consistently displayed thoughtful and perceptive attention to his studies in nonprofit management, which I'm quite certain are translated to his daily job duties. My congratulations for being recognized as a leader in Chicago."
