North Parkers working with Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans during Spring Break

CHICAGO, IL (March 23, 2007) - A live interview featuring North Park students Stina Peterson and Tanikia Thompson, as well as Director of University Ministries Rich Johnson, aired Friday at 1:10 p.m. on WGN Radio News/Talk 720 (AM) during the Steve Cochran Show timeslot. The interivew was conducted by a guest host, Cochran's colleague and former CLTV news anchor Bill Moller of "The Money $How" on WGN.

The featured topic was North Park's Spring Break service trips and current trends in student volunteerism and "volunteer vacations."

Stina Peterson is a North Park junior who just returned from building homes with Habitat for Humanity in St. Bernard Parish in the Upper Ninth Ward, in the heart of Hurricane Katrina-ravaged New Orleans. Tanikia Thompson is a first-year student who traveled to Oaxaca and Tiacolula, Mexico, to construct a conference facility, medical clinic and home for 90 orphaned children.
