Center for Youth Ministry Studies to Host PreLoad

CHICAGO, IL (August 27, 2007) – On September 8, 2007, North Park University will host PreLoad, a free one-day training event for youth workers. The event, scheduled to take place in Hamming Hall (at Foster and Kedzie avenues) from 8:30 a.m. to noon, is connected with the national Urban Youth Worker Institute.

The featured speaker will be Danny Lopez, who escaped his gang-infested neighborhood in the inner city of Chicago to become an international speaker and consultant for academic institutions and faith-based organizations.

Various workshops will be offered, including building relationships for discipling and the basics of counseling.

The Center for Youth Ministry Studies at North Park is hosting the event. An optional free networking luncheon also will be provided. For more information or to RSVP for the luncheon, contact Alison Burkhardt at aburkhardt@northpark.edu or (773) 244-5207.

The Center for Youth Ministry Studies is a unique partnership of North Park University, North Park Theological Seminary, and the Department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
