Former North Park Chaplain Mullen Fondell Returns as Pastor in Residence
CHICAGO, IL (September 26, 2007) - For the week of September 24, Jodi Mullen Fondell, former chaplain at North Park, is on campus as part of the North Park Theological Seminary Pastors in Residence program. Thanks to this program, she will be taking part in a variety of Seminary classes, lectures, and special forums, through which she will be able to interact with current students and offer her own examples of blessings, needs, quandaries, and insight for current parish ministry.
A graduate of both the University (1982) and the Seminary (1993), Mullen Fondell worked at North Park as chaplain until 1989. She and her husband, Doug C'83 S'91, are currently the pastors at Immanuel International Church in Stockholm, Sweden. The multi-cultural nature of Immanuel International was a driving force behind their decision to move to Stockholm.
Bringing experienced and qualified pastors such as Mullen Fondell to the campus enriches the Seminary's programs and people by keeping in touch with those involved in the varied practices of ministry. Students and faculty are given the chance to interact with ministers from around the country and the world who represent a variety of specialties and ministry gifts.
