Former North Park Tennis Coach Passes Away
CHICAGO, IL (November 30, 2007) – The North Park Athletics community lost a leader and a friend when Gunnar J. Rosen passed away on November 26. He was 65.
Rosen coached tennis for 11 years at North Park and worked as a self-employed financial planner. In his free time he enjoyed tennis, his grandchildren, and his dogs, Dandy and Cuddles.
“Gunnar Rosen was the face of North Park tennis for more than a decade. His individualized approach was appreciated by all the men and women he coached here,” said North Park Athletic Director Dr. Jack Surridge.
Rosen is survived by his loving companion, Gloria Steinhoff, of Morris, Ill.; two children, Kristina (the late Randy) Kruse of Morris, Ill., and Steven (Kim) Rosen of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Nicole Kruse, Rebecca Rosen, and Stephanie Kruse.
