Emmy Award-Winning Journalist to Speak at North Park University
CHICAGO, IL (September 22, 2008) – Dr. G. Timothy Johnson, Emmy Award-winning chief medical editor of “ABC News,” will visit North Park University’s campus on Tuesday, September 23, to address health care policy from 7:30–9:30 p.m. in Anderson Chapel. The discussion, titled “Health Care: Is True Reform Possible?” will be a featured event during North Park’s Homecoming festivities, which take place September 22–27.
An alumnus of the University, Johnson provides on-air medical analysis for “World News Tonight,” “Nightline,” and “20/20.” His programs and reports have won a number of awards, in addition to an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Johnson will also be the first speaker in the University’s theme program, which this year is focusing on the question, “Whose Life Is it Anyway?” The theme will be addressed throughout the year through lectures and community dialogue. Past themes have included “What is a Life of Faith?” and “What is a Life of Significance?"
