Students celebrate an early Thanksgiving
CHICAGO, IL (November 26, 2008) – On Thursday, November 20, North Park University hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner for all current students—an annual tradition that this year took place a week before the holiday.
The dining hall welcomed more than 1,000 students (up from last year’s 953), and members of the University’s administration and staff, including President David Parkyn and his wife, Linda; Senior Vice President Dan Tepke; and Provost Joseph Jones; served the delicious dinner.
As the evening concluded, students had collectively consumed a total of 32 whole turkeys, 25 honey baked hams, 200 pounds of sweet potatoes, 120 pounds of green beans, 120 pounds of glazed carrots, 200 pounds of stuffing, 15 gallons of gravy, 2,000 rolls, and countless homemade pecan pies, apple cakes, and pumpkin rolls.
