North Park Congratulates Former President on His Inauguration
ATHENS, GREECE (March 7, 2009) – Former president of North Park University David G. Horner was recently inaugurated as the seventh president of The American College of Greece (ACG) in Athens.
He assumed the role on July 1, 2008, and a formal inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday, March 7, 2009. Carl Balsam, North Park’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, attended the festivities to bring official greetings and congratulations on behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students. In addition, Angelyn Balodimas-Bartolomei, a graduate of The American College of Greece and professor at North Park University attended the inauguration and will be giving a lecture at Deree College on Wednesday, March 11th, on her newly published book, Footsteps Through Athina, A Traveler's Guide to Athens and Greek Culture.
ACG was founded in Smyrna, Asia Minor, in 1875, and today includes a high school, junior college, undergraduate and graduate divisions, and continuing and professional studies.
Horner served as president of North Park University from 1987 to 2004, and since 2005 he has been serving as senior managing director for the Higher Education Practice of EFL Associates, a leading executive search and recruitment firm. He succeeds now Chancellor John Bailey, president of ACG for 33 years.
