Axelson Center to Offer Webinar Series for Aspiring Nonprofit CEOs

CHICAGO (September 11, 2009) – North Park’s Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management will partner with Achieve, a national consulting firm for nonprofits, to offer a series of six one-hour Webinars for aspiring nonprofit CEOs from October 2009 to February 2010. The monthly series, which is open to anyone considering a role as a nonprofit CEO, will culminate with an in-person session in Chicago on March 5, 2010. 

Certificates will be awarded to all aspiring CEO participants who complete at least five of the six sessions, focusing on such topics as preparing for a nonprofit leadership role, the importance of a strategic plan, effective strategies for building strong and appropriate relationships with board members, organizational transparency, and financial and organizational evaluation techniques.

Webinar instructors include: Ken Gladish, CEO of the Austin Community Foundation and former CEO, YMCA of the USA; Tom King, former president, Eli Lilly & Company Foundation; Dave Sternberg, vice president and co-founder of Achieve and senior governance consultant, BoardSource; and other national nonprofit leaders.

The cost for all six sessions is $200, or $50 ala carte.
