Professor's Expertise Highlighted in Article on Faith and Health

Students studying the Bible at North Park University

CHICAGO (September 11, 2009) – Dr. Mary Chase-Ziolek, professor of health ministries and nursing at North Park University, is featured in a special Q&A article on the homepage of HopeandHealing.org.

A ministry of the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tenn., HopeandHealing.org is a resource for those who understand and value the link between physical and spiritual health.

“I talk about that process as naming and reclaiming the church’s ministries of health,” Chase-Ziolek describes. “You might do it through Bible study, through what is taught and what is preached. It is not a very hard jump for people to make, to be reminded that their faith and their health are connected. Most people of faith know that intuitively.”

Her work is an important contribution to the church and society, says HopeandHealing.org editor, John Shorb. “We're very happy to have this interview with her.”

Chase-Ziolek previously served as director of the former Center for Faith and Health at North Park Theological Seminary. She now teaches in the University’s School of Nursing.
