Campus Enjoys Thanksgiving Feast

CHICAGO (November 19, 2009) – North Park University students, faculty, and staff celebrated an early Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 18, with a holiday feast that has become an annual campus tradition.

The dining hall welcomed 939 students, who were served by University administration and staff, including President David Parkyn and his wife, Linda; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Carl Balsam; and Provost Joseph Jones.

As the evening concluded, the guests had collectively consumed a total of 26 turkeys, 20 hams, 200 pounds of green beans, 300 pounds of mashed potatoes, 250 pounds of sweet potatoes, 150 pounds of stuffing, 150 pounds of acorn squash, 30 pounds of cranberry sauce, 1,200 rolls, 120 pies, and 35 holiday cakes.
