Our Promise

North Park Theological Seminary is committed to developing students, faculty, and staff for sharing in Christ's ministry. We walk together in the practice of mature Christian lives, nurturing each other as whole persons in the context of a worshiping, caring community. Students are trained for ministry in all its diversity so that each woman and man in the Seminary community can:

  • articulate the gospel clearly and in love
  • live and work under Scripture's authority
  • communicate what is valuable for the present and future from our Christian heritage
  • skillfully and creatively exercise suitable gifts for the edification and extension of Christ's church

North Park is the seminary of the Evangelical Covenant Church, but is proud to welcome students from a variety of Christian traditions. The rich diversity of backgrounds present in our students, faculty, and staff deepens our conversations and broadens our understanding of God's work in our churches and world.

North Park Theological Seminary Programs

Academic studies are organized into five major fields: Bible, history, theology, ministry, and spiritual formation. Studies in each of these fields are designed to acquaint students with the ideas, materials, and resources that are foundational for an informed, dedicated, and relevant ministry.

The Seminary offers four master's degrees, a dual-degree option, numerous certificates, and a doctor of ministry in preaching degree.

The academic year is divided into two semesters; we also offer shorter, intensive courses in January and throughout the summer. Use the resources below for more information and to aid in planning and the registration process. Class schedules and syllabi for upcoming semesters can be found in the left-hand menu throughout the academics section.
