Applying for a Master's Program

1. Consult the application timeline so you can complete everything on time.
2. Find out the answers to common questions before you begin.
3. Fill out the application form. See below for application downloads.
   (Separate applications for the Doctor of Ministry and certificate programs are available.)
4. Give the recommendation forms to your required references.
   (The reference forms are included in the application. The completed recommendations should be sent directly to us by your references before the due date.)
5. Write your essay(s) and include them with your application.

6. Include your non-refundable $25 application fee.

7. Request official academic transcripts from each undergraduate, graduate, and professional institution you have attended.
   (Order your transcripts early, so they arrive before the deadline. Schools should send sealed transcripts directly to North Park. If you have attended another seminary in the past five years without completing a degree, you will also need a letter of good standing from their dean.)
8. Sign the application and submit it to the seminary Admissions Office, along with your essay(s) and application fee.

Important: International students and students whose first language is not English have special requirements and may have an earlier due date.

Prerequisite: The prerequisite for entrance to graduate studies at North Park Theological Seminary, in any degree or non-degree program, is a bachelor's degree (or its academic equivalent) from an accredited college or university, with a GPA of at least 2.5.

Financial Aid

• Early application is advisable for optimum consideration in financial aid and housing.
• If you are a domestic student and wish to receive any grants or scholarships besides academic scholarships, you need to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Our school code is 001735. Please also ensure that you include your Social Security Number on your application in order to correctly match you to your submitted FAFSA. International students must submit a North Park Financial Resources Form to be considered for scholarships or need-based grants. You must also submit the appropriate scholarship application forms for the Presidential or Mosaic Leadership scholarships.
• If you do not wish to be considered for any aid, please inform the Seminary Admissions office so your application is not delayed and you receive registration information in a timely manner.
• After your FAFSA has been processed and you receive financial aid information from North Park, you will be asked to submit a $200 tuition deposit. After this deposit is received, you will be eligible to register for classes and apply for campus housing.

Deadlines

• Applications are considered as they are received, and on a space-available basis after priority deadlines have passed. If space is unavailable, students will be considered for admittance for subsequent semesters.
• Please consult our application timeline for deadlines for both fall and spring applications, for classes to be taken on our main campus, online, and at our Conference-based sites in Atlanta, Seattle, and Santa Barbara, California.
• Please note that scholarship applicants have earlier deadlines. International applicants also have special requirements and may have an earlier deadline. Please see complete details for international students.

After Sending Your Application

After you've submitted your application you can expect the following:

• Your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee only when fully complete and all required items have been received.
• We will send you updates letting you know which references and transcripts we have received and which items for your application are still outstanding. You are encouraged to contact Seminary Admissions with questions about the status of your application or any other matters.
• You will be sent information regarding your next steps for registration only after you have been accepted and awarded financial aid (or decline to be considered for aid). Once you register for classes, you will be billed immediately. It is important that your aid be in place before registration so that this bill is correct and clear.

Special Instructions

Dual Degrees with the School of Business and Nonprofit Management

You may apply for a program that will allow you to combine a North Park Theological Seminary degree with a degree from North Park's School of Business and Nonprofit Management (SBNM). You may combine MDiv, MACF, or MACM degrees with a Master of Business Administration or a Master of Nonprofit Administration.

Advanced Standing and Transfer of Credit

Students who have earned a bachelor of theological studies or youth ministries degree from North Park University within the past five years with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater may be eligible for advanced academic standing. Students must apply for advanced standing before or during their first semester of seminary as a degree-seeking student. Students wishing to transfer credit from another institution of higher education and those seeking advanced standing should contact Seminary Academic Services for more information.

First-Year Internship Students

Applicants should follow the admissions process detailed above, as well as complete the First-Year Internship Program information forms, to be submitted directly to the Director of Field Education for program approval. Course credit is not received unless the applicant has been accepted to a degree program by the Admissions Committee.
