ECC Ordination to Word and Service Pathway
In addition to coursework and field education for the MACF, women and men seeking ECC Ordination to Word and Service are required to complete an additional 12 credit hours of graduate-level theological education for a total of 60 credit hours. This can be done by completing two Covenant Orientation courses and a year-long cohort experience. While these courses are over and above Seminary's MACF degree requirements, students are encouraged to complete them prior to graduation.
Students on this track should register for:
- HSTY 7511 History of the Evangelical Covenant Church
- THEO 7501 Theology of the Evangelical Covenant Church
- CEDF 6990 ECC Christian Formation Cohort I
- CEDF 6991 ECC Christian Formation Cohort II
Students who wish to satisfy the additional 12 credit hours in alternative ways should consult the Department of the Ordered Ministry at the Evangelical Covenant Church offices. To qualify for ordination in the ECC, your 60 credit hours of graduate theological education must include both Covenant history and theology.
